Underworld nominated for a 2012 Olivier Award

So spring is here, daffodils are in bloom, Wales won the 6 nations (cue one very happy Welshman) and we’ve certainly got a ‘spring’ in our step over at Underworld HQ.
Its a hive of activity over here, Rick, Karl and Danny B are locked in rooms, having hushed conversations and grinning like Cheshire cats at the excitement that is creeping ever closer. We can see the stadium from our new office windows and D day is in sight.
Whilst we still can’t tell you about any of the plans we’re making, meetings we’re having and things we’re creating, we can talk about something else very exciting. Underworld have been nominated for a 2012 Olivier Award for their sound design on the critically acclaimed National Theatre production of Frankenstein. Rick and Karl are honoured to have been nominated for this award, a lovely nod to a piece of work we’re very proud of.
The awards will take place on the 15th April at the Royal Opera House in London so watch this space for news and fingers crossed. You can watch live from 5pm on the BBC red button or listen on Radio 2.
Also congratulations to Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller on their joint nomination for best actor for Frankenstein and also to Bruno Poet for his gorgeous lighting design also for Frankenstein.
Come on team Frankenstein!
